What’s On and Where To Go is an interesting and informative guide to events and attractions in and around Britain. To help plan your excursions, the guide is split into regional sections followed by specific features on a range of individual topics.

Specific features can include Heritage Railways, Canals and Waterways including boat hire, David Bellamy Awards, Britain in Bloom, Blue Flag beaches, Markets and Mills.

The North East takes in Yorkshire, Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland. The North West, with the Lake District and Cumbria, Cheshire and Lancashire providing a wealth of attractions, features the vibrant nightlife and Manchester and Liverpool along with a host of outdoor pursuits including horse riding, cycling and heritage trails. The Midlands are at the heart of the country and as well as the appeal of its historical sites also offers a host of theme parks, museums and art galleries. The East of England, which includes Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and the Broads, offers some of the country’s favourite campsites, country parks and walking and rambling countryside. South East England has a large number of internationally famous attractions, many based in London, and is rightly proud of its festivals, restaurants and hotels. The South West has been referred to as England’s playground and its wonderful coastline, water sports, arts and crafts, and horticulture make it an enduring favourite. Scotland and Wales also include – along with all the areas of England – spectacular cathedrals, National Parks, real ale trails, picnic areas, aquariums, guest houses and racecourses as well as any relevant tourist information and Park and Ride details.
